Our story

in our own words

Lower Pennycrocker Farm Camping and Caravan Site is run by Colin and Karyn. Their family has been here for more than 80 years.

This is a working farm campsite in the countryside behind Boscastle — not a holiday park. We look after pitches for tents, touring caravans and motorhomes from 1 April to 31 October, and we are about during 9am–7pm.

A family on this land

Eighty-plus years on one farm tends to make you practical. We know the weather, the lanes, and how long it really takes to get down into Boscastle or over to Tintagel. When you ring, you speak to us — not a call centre.

We keep the site straightforward: a pitch, parking beside it, optional electric, and facilities you will use — free showers, toilets, a disabled toilet and a washing-up room.

Our story: a family campsite above Boscastle

Lower Pennycrocker Farm has been in our family for more than 80 years. Today the campsite is run by Colin & Karyn, who look after the fields, the facilities and the bookings, and who are usually the first people you'll meet when you arrive. We are a family-run campsite in North Cornwall, set in farmland at St Juliot, high above Boscastle with views out to sea.

We have always kept things simple. There's no shop, bar, play area or pool, and we like it that way. Our guests come for space, quiet, clean facilities and the coast on the doorstep, and a great many of them come back year after year.

What makes us different

  • Space. Big, open grass fields with room between pitches, and parking beside your pitch.
  • Honest pricing. Adults £10, children 5+ £5, electric hook-up £7 and dogs £2 each. Awnings and pup tents are free, and so are the showers. See pitches and prices.
  • Location. The South West Coast Path is about half a mile away and Boscastle about 2 miles. Read our camping in Boscastle guide.
  • A personal welcome. You book with the family, not a call centre.

What our guests say

We're proud of our reviews: guests rate us 4.9 on Tripadvisor from 64 reviews and 9.7 out of 10 on Pitchup from 296 reviews. Again and again they mention the views, the space and the clean facilities, and the welcome they get from Colin.

Looking after the land

This is farmland, and we ask guests to treat it with care. Take litter home or use the bins, keep dogs on a lead, close gates behind you and respect the quiet in the evenings. Groups are limited to 8 people so that the site stays peaceful for everyone.
