Facilities that suit a quiet farm campsite
Lower Pennycrocker Farm is a working family farm near Boscastle, not a holiday park, and our facilities reflect that. We concentrate on the things campers actually use every day — hot showers, clean toilets, somewhere to wash up and a pitch with room to park — and we look after them carefully. Guests often tell us the simplicity is exactly why they chose us for camping in North Cornwall.
Free hot showers
Showers are free for everyone staying on site; there are no tokens or meters. After a day on the South West Coast Path or a session in the sea at Crackington Haven, a hot shower is one of the best parts of the day. Bring flip-flops, a wash bag you can hang up and a small towel for the walk back.
Toilets and a disabled toilet
We have toilets for campers and a disabled toilet. If you have specific access needs, please call us before you book so we can talk through the site and the best pitch for you.
Washing-up room
The washing-up room means you do not have to wash pans in a bowl on the grass. Please leave it as you would like to find it, and scrape food waste into the bin first.
Electric hook-up
Electric hook-up is available at £7 per night for tents, touring caravans and motorhomes. Bring your own hook-up cable; a long one is best on a grass site.
Parking beside your pitch
Your car parks beside your pitch, so you are not carrying kit across a field late at night. It also makes life much easier with young children and dogs.
What we don't have — and why
We do not have a shop, bar, play area, pool or evening entertainment. Instead we offer space, quiet and the north Cornwall countryside on your doorstep. Boscastle, about two miles away, has shops, pubs and cafés. See places to eat near Boscastle for ideas.
Practical tips for your stay
- Bring a head torch for evening trips to the showers.
- A windbreak helps on breezy days; see camping in wind and rain.
- Keep a bag for recycling and rubbish in your tent.
- Arrive between 9am and 7pm, when reception is open.
- Plan simple meals with our easy camping meals post.
Facilities for every type of camper
Whether you come in a tent, touring caravan or motorhome, the facilities are the same, and all are included in the price — see pitches and prices. Families should read family camping in Cornwall, and dog owners our dog-friendly camping page.
What you won't find, and why we like it that way
Lower Pennycrocker Farm is a traditional campsite. There is no shop, no bar, no play area and no swimming pool, and there is no evening entertainment. What you get instead is space, quiet and a clean, well-kept facilities block. The nearest shops, pubs and cafés are in Boscastle, about 2 miles away, and our guide to places to eat in Boscastle lists a few ideas for a night off cooking.
Packing tips for a simple site
- A good torch or head torch for walking to the facilities after dark.
- Wellies or walking boots — fields can be dewy in the morning.
- Extra pegs and guy lines; the site sits high above the sea and can be breezy. Our camping in wind and rain guide has more tips.
- Washing-up liquid and a bowl for the washing-up room.
- A cool box, as there is no shop on site.
Accessibility
We have a disabled toilet, and parking is beside your pitch, so you never carry gear far. If you have specific access needs, ring us on 07967 605392 before booking and we will suggest the best spot for you.
