in our own words

Cornwall is one of the best places in the UK for a campervan trip, with dramatic coastline, quiet lanes and beautiful beaches. Lower Pennycrocker Farm is a quiet, family-run campsite at St Juliot, about two miles from Boscastle, and we welcome campervans, motorhomes, touring caravans and tents. It's a peaceful base for exploring North Cornwall in your van.
Why choose a farm campsite?
Big holiday parks can be busy and noisy. Our campsite is a simple, traditional farm site, with open grass fields, wide skies and plenty of space. You park on your pitch, plug in if you've booked electric, and enjoy the peace.
What we offer campervans
- Grass pitches with your van on your pitch.
- Optional electric hook-up.
- Free showers, toilets, a disabled toilet and a washing-up room.
- Awnings free of charge.
- Dogs welcome, maximum two, on a lead.
We don't have a shop, bar or play area.
Prices
Per night:
- Adults: £10.
- Children aged 5 and over: £5.
- Electric hook-up: £7.
- Dogs: £2 each, maximum two.
A couple in a campervan with electric pays £27 a night. See pitches and prices.
Pitches
Our pitches are on grass, not hardstanding. Please bring levelling ramps, and a 25m cable if you're booking electric. Read our levelling on grass guide.
Waste and water
For chemical toilet emptying and waste water, please ask us when you arrive. See our toilet and waste tips.
Driving a campervan in North Cornwall
Many Cornish lanes are narrow, with high hedges and few passing places. A campervan is usually easier than a large motorhome, but take your time, use passing places, and be ready to reverse. The lanes near our campsite are narrow, so follow our getting here directions rather than relying only on sat nav. See our Cornish lanes guide.
Parking
Parking can be tricky in small villages such as Boscastle, Port Isaac and Tintagel in summer. Arrive early, use the main car parks, and check height restrictions.
Campervan routes from our campsite
The coast north to Bude
Drive north via Crackington Haven and Widemouth Bay to Bude, about 15 miles. See our camping near Bude page.
The coast south to Port Isaac and Padstow
Head south-west via Tintagel, about seven miles, to Port Isaac, about 15 miles, and on to Padstow, about 25 miles.
Bodmin Moor
Bodmin Moor and Rough Tor are about six miles inland. See our Bodmin Moor guide.
For a longer route, read our North Cornwall motorhome route.
A week in a campervan

- Day two: walk to Boscastle harbour and up the Valency Valley.

Eating on the road
There's no shop on site, so stock up at supermarkets on the way. Our washing-up room makes cooking in your van easier. Boscastle has pubs and cafés about two miles away. See our easy camping meals guide.
Walking from your van
One of the joys of our campsite is that you can leave the van parked and walk. The South West Coast Path is about half a mile away, and Boscastle is about two miles by lanes and paths. See our walks near Boscastle.
Campervan or tent?
If you're still deciding, read our campervan or tent guide. We welcome both.
When to come
We're open from 1 April to 31 October. Reception hours are 9am to 7pm, so please arrange your arrival time with us.
- Spring: quiet lanes and wildflowers.
- Summer: the busiest time, so book early.
- Autumn: calm days and fewer crowds.
Wild camping vs campsites
Wild camping in a campervan isn't generally permitted in Cornwall without the landowner's permission. Using a campsite is the responsible choice. See our wild camping guide.
