Camping for South West Coast Path walkers near Boscastle
in our own words

The South West Coast Path is one of the great long-distance walks of the world, and the stretch around Boscastle is among its most dramatic. Whether you're walking a few days of the path or using us as a base for day walks, here's what you need to know.

Walks from the campsite
To Boscastle
Walk to Boscastle harbour along the coast path, then explore the village. Return via the Valency Valley for a lovely circular walk. See our Valency Valley walk.
Boscastle to Tintagel
A classic stretch of coast path of roughly five miles, past Rocky Valley. Many walkers take a bus or taxi one way. Check timetables before you set out.
North to Crackington Haven
The coast path north of Boscastle is steep and remote, with some of the highest cliffs in Cornwall. Crackington Haven is about five miles from our campsite by road. Take plenty of water and allow lots of time.

A three-day walking plan
- Day one: walk to Boscastle on the coast path, then return via the Valency Valley and St Juliot.
- Day two: walk from Boscastle to Tintagel past Rocky Valley, and take a bus or taxi back. Check times before you go.
- Day three: drive to Crackington Haven and walk the cliffs towards Cambeak, or rest your legs on Bodmin Moor.
Wildlife on the path
Keep your eyes open as you walk. Seabirds nest on the cliffs in spring and early summer, and you may see fulmars, gulls and, with luck, choughs, Cornwall's emblem bird. Seals are often seen in the coves below. Wildflowers line the path from spring into summer, including sea pinks and bluebells.
Walking the coast path in stages
If you're walking a longer section of the path, our campsite can be a base for several days. Walk a stage, then use a bus or taxi to return to your tent. Check public transport timetables before you plan, as services can be limited, especially outside summer.
