Camping near Crackington Haven

in our own words

Rocky cove and green headland on the North Cornwall coast under a blue sky

Crackington Haven is one of the most dramatic coves in North Cornwall, with towering cliffs, a pebbly beach that gives way to sand at low tide, and some of the best walking on the South West Coast Path. Lower Pennycrocker Farm is a quiet, family-run campsite about five miles away, near Boscastle. It's a peaceful base for days at Crackington and along this beautiful stretch of coast.

Wildlife

The cliffs and coast around Crackington are good for wildlife. Look out for seabirds such as fulmars and gulls, kestrels hovering over the clifftops, and seals in the water below on calm days. In spring and early summer, the clifftops are covered in wildflowers, including sea pinks and bluebells.

Visiting tips

  • Arrive early in summer, as the car park fills up.
  • Check the tide times: the sand is best at low tide.
  • Wear sturdy shoes for the rocks and the coast path.
  • Keep away from the base of the cliffs, as rocks can fall.
