Dog-friendly camping in Cornwall, the farm way
For many of our guests, a holiday isn't a holiday without the dog. Dog-friendly camping in Cornwall at Lower Pennycrocker Farm means open fields, a quiet site and miles of coast and countryside to explore from your pitch. We welcome up to two dogs per booking at £2 each a night, and we ask owners to follow a few simple rules because this is a working farm.
Our dog rules
- A maximum of two dogs per booking.
- £2 per dog per night, in addition to adult and child rates.
- Keep dogs on a lead around the site and near livestock.
- Always clean up after your dog and use the bins provided.
- Please don't leave dogs alone in tents, caravans or cars.
- Keep barking to a minimum so everyone can enjoy the quiet.
Planning days out with your dog
North Cornwall is a great area for dog owners, but local rules vary. Some beaches have seasonal dog restrictions in summer, and others welcome dogs all year. Rules change, so check signs and the local council website before you go. Our beaches near Boscastle page lists the beaches closest to the farm.
On the coast path
The South West Coast Path is about half a mile from the farm. It is spectacular but often unfenced, with sheer drops and grazing animals. Keep dogs on a lead near cliff edges and livestock, and carry water — there are few taps between villages. See walks near Boscastle for routes, and our post on camping with dogs in Cornwall for more tips.
Pubs and cafés
Many pubs and cafés in the area welcome well-behaved dogs, at least in a bar area or outside. Policies vary, so always ask. See places to eat near Boscastle.
What to pack for your dog
- Lead, spare lead and a long line
- Bedding and a towel for muddy paws
- Food, bowls and a water bottle for walks
- Poo bags (plenty)
- A tie-out stake for the pitch
- Any medication and your vet's details
- A coat for older or short-haired dogs on cool evenings
Warm and dry evenings
Wet and windy evenings happen even in summer. A large porch or an awning (free here) gives your dog a dry place to sleep. Parking beside your pitch means the car can be a handy drying room for wet towels.

Pubs, cafés and dogs
Many pubs and cafés in Boscastle and along the coast welcome well-behaved dogs, but policies change, so ask before you go in. Our places to eat in Boscastle page is a good starting point. Read our longer guide to camping with dogs in Cornwall for packing lists and beach tips.
A quiet site for nervous dogs
Because there's no bar, play area or evening entertainment, the site is calm, which suits dogs that don't love crowds. Parking beside your pitch also means you can settle a dog in the car or van while you set up.
