Rainy days with children
When the weather turns, see our rainy day in North Cornwall ideas, and read camping with kids in Cornwall for packing and sleeping tips.
A simple, safe base for children
Children love the space here: wide grass fields, room for ball games near your own pitch and, on clear nights, more stars than most of them have ever seen. Parking is beside the pitch, so little ones don't have to trek across the site with bags, and our facilities block includes free showers and a washing-up room. Children aged 5 and over are £5 a night.
Family days out nearby
- Boscastle (about 2 miles): the harbour, the river and plenty of places for ice cream.
- Tintagel (about 7 miles): castle ruins and legends of King Arthur — see our Tintagel guide.
- Crackington Haven (about 5 miles): a sandy and rocky beach for rock pooling at low tide.
- Bude (about 15 miles): big beaches and a sea pool — see our Bude day trip.
On rainy days, our rainy day ideas for North Cornwall page has indoor options. There's no play area on site, so pack a ball, a kite and a few games.
Keeping children safe
Remind children that the coast path is unfenced in places and cliff edges can crumble. On site, keep an eye on younger children near vehicles arriving and leaving, and agree a meeting point. Our guide to camping with kids in Cornwall has more ideas.
