In short

Crackington Haven, Widemouth Bay, Bude, Bossiney and The Strangles: the best beaches near Lower Pennycrocker Farm campsite, Boscastle.

One of the best things about camping near Boscastle is the choice of beaches within an easy drive. From surf beaches to rocky coves, here are our favourites from Lower Pennycrocker Farm.

Crackington Haven

A sheltered cove framed by huge cliffs, with sand at low tide and rock pools to explore. It is one of the closest beaches to the farm and a great start or finish to a coast path walk.

Widemouth Bay

A long, open beach south of Bude, popular with families and surfers. Widemouth is famous for its sunsets — well worth staying for the evening light.

Bude

Bude has several beaches, plus cafés, shops and the town's sea pool. It makes an easy day out from your pitch if you want a bit more going on.

Bossiney

A small cove between Boscastle and Tintagel, reached by a path from the road. Best at lower tides, and a peaceful spot away from the crowds.

The Strangles

Wild, remote and reached by a steep path, The Strangles rewards walkers with a dramatic, often empty beach. Take care on the climb back up and check the tides.

Beach-day tips

  • Always check tide times — several of these beaches disappear at high tide.
  • Swim at lifeguarded beaches where possible and follow the flags.
  • Check local dog rules before you go, as some beaches restrict dogs in summer.
  • Pack layers: the north Cornwall breeze can be cool even in July.

Come back to a quiet farm

After a day on the sand, return to free hot showers and a peaceful pitch. Read more in our beaches near Boscastle guide, view 2026 prices or check availability.
