Cornwall School Holidays: Camping Dates

If you are planning a family camping trip around the school calendar, it helps to know when Cornish schools break up, as well as your own. This page lists Cornwall Council's published term dates and shows which holidays fall in our season at Lower Pennycrocker Farm (1 April to 31 October).

The dates below are for Cornwall Council community and voluntary controlled schools. Academies and other schools can set different dates, so always check with your own school.

So Cornwall's Easter holiday in 2027 runs from 26 March to 9 April, and the summer holiday starts after 23 July 2027.

Which holidays fall in our season?

• Easter: early April, as we open on 1 April. See Easter and school holiday camping.
• May half term: our busiest spring week. Book early.
• Summer holidays: late July to early September. See summer camping in Cornwall.
• October half term: late October, just before we close on 31 October. See October camping in Cornwall.

Half terms in other parts of the UK can fall on different weeks, so the site can be busy even when Cornish schools are back.

Busy weeks and quieter weeks

The busiest weeks for camping in north Cornwall are usually the May half term and late July to the end of August, when schools across England are on holiday together. The first half of September is often much quieter, as schools return, and the weather can still be warm. If you have pre-school children, or older children whose school allows flexibility, June and September give you the same beaches with fewer people. Tips for family camping in the holidays

• Book as early as you can for August and the May half term.
• Arrive midweek if your dates are flexible.
• Plan beach days around tides and lifeguard cover: see beach safety and tides.

Family prices

Cornwall half term camping
