in our own words

Camelford is a small market town on the A39, on the edge of Bodmin Moor in north Cornwall. If you are looking for camping near Camelford, Lower Pennycrocker Farm is a quiet, family-run campsite about nine miles away by road (roughly 20 minutes), at St Juliot near Boscastle. You get the moor on one side and the Atlantic coast on the other.
Where we are compared with Camelford
We are about two miles from Boscastle and about two miles from the A39, which runs south to Camelford. From the farm:
| Place | Rough distance |
|---|---|
| Boscastle | about 2 miles |
| South West Coast Path | about half a mile |
| Crackington Haven | about 5 miles |
| Tintagel | about 7 miles |
| Camelford | about 9 miles by road |
| Bude | about 20–25 minutes' drive |
Why stay here rather than in town
Camelford is handy for the moor, but most visitors want the coast too. Staying near Boscastle puts you within walking distance of the coast path, a short drive from Tintagel and Crackington Haven, and still close enough to the A39 to reach Camelford and the moor easily.
The farm is quiet, with no bar or entertainment, free showers and parking beside your pitch. We welcome tents, touring caravans, motorhomes and campervans.

A day from the farm via Camelford
A good moor-and-coast day starts with an early walk up Rough Tor from the car park near Camelford, when the light is soft and the tors are quiet. Come back down for lunch in Camelford, then head north on the A39 and out to the coast for the afternoon: Boscastle harbour, the Valency valley or a short stretch of coast path from the farm. Finish with sunset over the Atlantic, which is a short walk from your pitch on a clear evening.
If the weather closes in on the moor, which it can do quickly, swap the order and save the tors for a brighter day. Our rainy-day ideas help on wet afternoons.
